Our History (Since 1984)
In the eighties, the region of Los Cabos was but a promise: San Jose barely boasted one nine-hole golf course and the first major hotel was just under construction. Today, Los Cabos is a world class destination, whose fame echoes around the globe, at the level of the most celebrated resorts. The natural qualities of the region, recognized as World Heritage by UNESCO, have made of Los Cabos a tremendous place for exclusivity and fine living.
In 1984, Miguel Angel Arce López Velarde, with Margarita Valencia, his wife and collaborator, founded CONSTRUCTORA MALVER. The Company settled in San José del Cabo and dedicated its efforts to building custom homes, spaces that would allow people to enjoy life in the vicinity of a beach of unparalleled beauty.
The first home designed and built by MALVER was for a U.S. citizen, who had arrived in Los Cabos onboard his single-engine Cessna and bought a lot in the fishermen's village La Playita (The Little Beach); the project was a small vacation home.
From that moment on we began to evolve and grow based on the service we provided. With our clients recommendation, our next project was at the golf course in San José del Cabo, where we built several homes.
Professionalism and solvency, strong MALVER characteristics since its inception, lead to their services being required in Palmilla, the best development in the eighties and early nineties. The first endeavor was to finalize the Casa Mañana residence for the Jacobson family; as with all of their clients, a professional relationship grew into a friendship. After that came the request for the first home, and many more after that in the most exclusive sections of the Palmilla development, such as Caleta and Villas del Mar. Since then, MALVERs history continues with its brilliant trajectory in spaces of great class, such as the Cabo del Sol, Querencia and El Dorado developments.
Throughout its 30 plus year history, MALVER has made significant contributions to the architectural landscape of Los Cabos with publications in Architectural Digest and recognized within the top 50 construction companies in all of Mexico by the renowned magazines OBRAS by expansion group.
ts reputation as a solid company that meets the most demanding standards, along with its clients, are its best introduction. If in 1984, there was one golf course there are ten more today and MALVER is ready to meet the new challenges on the horizon.
